  there has been some speculation over the last weeks about this issue.. well it's up tonight, only large print so far though.. george.

  In that same country, a building project was scheduled for a much needed Kingdom Hall.

  The local brothers and sisters wanted to assist. However, the project was to be undertaken in

  the middle of their planting season. Still determined to have a share, they worked on the

  Kingdom Hall project during the day and then went into the fields in the evening to make sure

  that they got their crops planted. What a selfsacrificing spirit!

  The paragraph above is from the Watchtower of Dec 2013. What bothered me is the abuses of the Watchtower that decides to make projects according to its own convenience and despite the trouble it creates for the very people who make the greatest contribution and is most needy. What an abusive, callous, inconsiderate "spirit-guided" organization!

  I was there. Good movie. My only observation is that women were underrepresented. Women are the majority, they do the heavy lifting in the preaching work, they are the most devout, and they also are the greatest influence on children, especially when they marry non believers. I think their voice can carry even more power than the voice of "those men", who are often inclined to do the wrong thing (have fun, sex, drink, party, go wild), and therefore have convenient reasons for leaving the organization. Men's voice come stronger in the doctrinal and historical aspects because many have been elders, but the issues of the movie were more on the emotional side, the area where women can carry more weight

  obey any instructions even if they sound illogical (paraphrasing)

  i would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .

  and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..

  Carl Olof Jonsson far and away. What a phenomenal job he did with the Gentile Times Reconsidered. I believe he was a factor in awakening Ray Franz and many others in the early eighties. Let's give credit where credit is due. I thanked him, not just for teaching me TTATT, but also for getting me interested in the Bible (as a historical or literary document), Astronomy, Archaelogy and Ancient History. Thank you COJ

  fbi and santa barbara agents arrested michael at the airport.

  he is locked up in santa barbara county jail.

  he awaits bail hearing and i intend on presenting evidence to revoke his $250,000.00 bail.. thanks to everyone for your encouragement and support!.

  I'm 48 and I just started getting religion. It drives me nuts, but I don't seem to get enough. I'm a masoquista.

  Having very little indoctrination in my childhood, I easily walked away from religion when I was 13. I went back to studying religion right after my daughter asked me for permission to get baptized and become a JW a year ago. I am hooked, but I am angry too.

  Th Watchtower is controlling my life too. Unbelievable!!!

  For what is worth.

  I conveniently remain indifferent to the homosexual plight; they live in a christian world where people consider them sinful and disgusting. After having read an account from another JW months ago, I realized that I had to take a position on an issue that goes against my most basic ideals: freedom and equality of rights. The world outside of fundamentalist religions is changing for the better. Be optimistic, many of us want to support you in your effort to be treated with love, compassion and fairness.

  i apologize if this has been covered before.

  i found an article in the watchtower of october 15, 2013. it is quite interesting how science is sometimes credible, sometimes is not.

  reminds me of the 607 vs 587 bce "controversy".

  I just remembered. Doesn't the Watchtower support its position agaist evolution by borrowing from the Creationists arguments? So they use Creationists's "research" and conclusions in the seconnd paragraph of the article, then stabbed them in the back in the third paragraph. Nice!
